The House Committee that’s investigating the attack on the United States Capitol on January 6, 2021, voted unanimously Thursday to subpoena former President Donald Trump for relevant documents and testimony under oath in connection with the attack on the Capitol. Wyoming Congresswoman Liz Cheney (R-WY) is Vice-Chair of the January 6 Committee and delivered the following remarks prior to the committee’s vote on the resolution to subpoena Trump.

Cheney said other witnesses have also gone to enormous lengths to avoid testifying before the committee about their dealings with Trump.

Thursday’s hearing was the ninth public hearing held by the house committee investigating the January 6 attack on the Capitol.
