Johnson County Emergency Management Coordinator Marilyn Connolly brought documents before the county commission for three grants from Homeland Security for them to consider and sign.
She explained that the grant documents were sent earlier this fall and then re-sent from the state once they were corrected.
Connolly said the first grant is for just under $15,000 for the county to establish a joint information command center.
The second is for roughly $5,700 for soft target/crowd control.
These grants are fully funded at 100%, according to Connolly.
The third is the Emergency Management Performance grant for $42,000 which carries a local match of 50% which is used to fund the county’s emergency management’s annual budget.
The commission voted to accept and sign the grant award documents.
