While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, City of Sheridan Governmental Relations Specialist Bev Leichtnam gave an update on the projects that have been completed this year to renovate Sheridan City Hall.

One of the major recent updates was improving City Hall’s windows. Originally constructed in 1910 and retrofitted in the late 90’s, Leichtnam told listeners the old windows allowed air, dirt, dust & snow infiltration. The windows were so drafty, according to Leichtnam, there was constant draft traversing through the offices.

The windows have been renovated, stopping the snow and the constant draft. This project was paid for with a 10 year, 0% interest loan from the Wyoming Association of Municipalities and Wyoming County Commissioners Association in the amount of $100,000.

Although Leichtnam will not have figures for some time, this project is expected to increase City Hall’s overall energy efficiency, comfort and reduce utility and operation costs.

Currently the 112 year old building is getting a face lift, Leichtnam said.

Once this portion of the renovation is completed, Leichtnam would like to update the hallway of the third floor. The plans, still in the initial exploratory phases, is one that she has had for quite some time.

With the updates being made to City Hall, this historic seat of the City of Sheridan’s government should serve the residents of the city for many generations to come.
