News – Sheridan Media

It looks like the first big snowstorm of the 2022-23 winter season is about to hit northeast Wyoming and southeast Montana.

The National Weather Service in Billings, Montana has issued a winter storm watch for Sheridan County.

The watch is in effect from 11am Monday (December 12th) until 5am Thursday (December 15th).

Snowfall totals between 6 and 10 inches are anticipated.

Similar watches have also been issued for Campbell and Crook Counties, as well as all of southeast Montana.

Roads as well as bridges and overpasses, will likely become slick and hazardous, making travel very difficult.

Areas of blowing snow could reduce visibility.

The NWS advises that motorists should consider delaying travel if possible.

If travel is absolutely necessary, drive with extreme caution, be prepared for sudden changes in visibility and take a winter travelling kit with you.

Make sure your vehicle is winterized and in good working order.
