Buffalo Police Chief GivesYear-end Stats

At their first meeting of the new year, Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett gave the department’s year-end report to the city council.

Total calls into dispatch center numbered 32,046 which he said eight people handled during the year.

He said officers responded to 11,871 of those calls.

Comparing this year to last, Bissett said the number of incidents remained about the same, but the department had 160 felony and misdemeanor arrests in 2022 while there were 113 in 2021.

Bissett talked about felony arrests specifically.

Bissett said in those arrests and other contacts with the public, officers have had no uses of force in 2022, and are using their de-escalation skills and effective communication skills.
