The City of Sheridan may soon have an ordinance on the books pertaining to the use of tobacco and vaping by minors. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Tobacco and Vaping Ordinance
The City of Sheridan does not have an ordinance that prohibits tobacco or electronic cigarettes within the City, as the possession of tobacco by minors is controlled by State Statute. The City Council may soon be considering an ordinance that would bring Municipal Court into the equation for minors found in possession of tobacco, e-cigarettes or vaping devices. City Attorney Brendon Kerns presented the proposed ordinance to the City Council this week at a study session.
