During a recent appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter Dog Lead Emi Whiting and Unleashed Foundation owner and operator Marian Eccles told listeners that the inaugural Valentine’s Critter Carnival was a success.
The Shelter teamed up with Landon’s Greenhouse to host the Valentine’s Critter Carnival. The event featured games with prizes, puppy themed cupcakes, refreshments, puppy kisses, kitty cuddles and more. According to Whiting and Eccles, people showed up ready to take part even before staff could get animals in the proper locations, something shelter staff loved to see.

The event was a fundraiser to help the shelter cover the costs of caring for the many animals housed at the Sheridan Dog and Cat Shelter. The event raised $597, one of the most successful fundraising events the shelter has organized.
Whiting and Eccles organized the event and took the opportunity to thank those who stopped by the event, donated funds and took the time to get to know some of the animals and shelter staff.

Whiting said the event was successful enough that plans are in development to improve the event for next year.
