News – Sheridan Media

In just two weeks, The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will hold a series of open houses, followed by a formal season setting meeting.

Season setting meetings are held each spring to present proposed license allocations, season length changes and other proposals for the coming fall to hunters and the general public.

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program, Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt, spoke about the upcoming meetings.

The first meetings will be a series of open houses held throughout the region. At these events, Game and Fish game wardens and biologists will provide information about local herd units and proposed seasons. They will also be available to visit with hunters, landowners and other participants to answer questions and listen to feedback and opinions on the proposals.

According to Shcmidt, presentations will be posted online that week from each district biologist, who will explain the proposals for their specific work area. There will also be printed copies of the proposals available at the open houses.

Once the local meetings have taken place, a more formal final meeting will take place here in Sheridan.
