The Johnson County Historical Society will present a look at some of the history of Johnson County and one of it’s well-known families on April 11 at the Johnson County Library.
Presenter Brock Hanson will discuss both his family’s history and the county’s history as he knows it.
According to a release from the historical society, Hanson was born in Lusk, Wyoming in 1948, and lived on his father’s ranch during his early years before moving to Johnson County to live on his grandfather’s ranch.
He acquired a ranch on the Red Fork of the Powder River in 1975 previously owned by his great-great aunt Annie Brock and her husband Johnny Jones.
Brock and his wife Paula have three children, two of which live in Johnson County, and they have five grandchildren, which makes six generations of the family that have lived in Johnson County over the years.
Brock has spent his entire life ranching and learning about Johnson County’s history.
The presentation will be Tuesday, April 11 beginning at 6:30 p.m. in the library’s Twing Room.
The public is welcome to attend.
