The Sheridan Police Department has announced that at 8:54 a.m. on April 3, the SPD received a telephone call on a non-emergency line in which the caller reported seven students had been shot in Sheridan High School.

SPD officers and Sheridan County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to Sheridan County School District 2 schools and determined, after searches of the schools, that the reports were false. SPD officers did lock down the high school while the search was conducted.
