WYO PLAY is hosting auditions for the Spring 2023 Youth Musical: Matilda Jr! Inspired by the book by Roald Dahl the story revolves around a young girl who dares to take a stand and change her own destiny.
The youth musical is open to students currently in 2nd-9th grades. WYO PLAY lead teacher and founder, Grace Cannon-Wallace, said everyone who wishes to audition should take the opportunity. Parents or guardians who would like to speed up the process can sign up for auditions in advance using an online form provided by WYO PLAY. Find that form by clicking here.
The auditions will be held at the WYO Theater during one of two open audition times: 4:15 p.m. to 7 p.m. Friday, April 28, or 10 a.m. to noon Saturday, April 29.
Some students will be invited to callback auditions for a few character roles at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 29.
Cannon-Wallace told listeners of Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse program that she would love to cast everyone, but often productions are limited on space.
