Johnson County Amends Budget to Accept Airport Grant

Johnson County’s Commissioners have approved a budget amendment for their current 2022-23 budget to accept grant funding for lighting at the county airport.

At their recent meeting he commission entered into a budget session and discussed the grant funding with County Clerk Jackie Camino.

According to faa.gov, the Runway End Identifier Lights (REIL) system provides rapid and positive identification of the end of runways.

The $85,000 grant is from the Wyoming Department of Transportation’s Aeronautics Division and will fund 90% of the cost of the project.
