JCHC Board Approves FY2024 Budget

The Hospital Board of Trustees for the Johnson County Healthcare Center have approved their budget for Fiscal Year 2024.

During their regular meeting last week, the board reviewed the budget with JCHC Finance Director Becky Rodriguez, who gave the budget assumptions for the coming year.

The JCHC will increase prices by 5% across all service lines; and increase daily private room rates from $312 to $375 in the Amie Holt Care Center effective August 1.

Volume in the hospital is expected to continue to increase in the OR, radiology, Physical Therapy, and Occupational Therapy.

Wages are estimated with a 5% increase, up from a 3% increase in FY2023.

Supplies and utilities were increased by 6% to account for rising costs.

The Foundation will donate $196,000 to JCHC.

Abd the JCHC expects to receive a 3-mill tax levy for an estimated $1,527,000 in revenue.

Additional revenue of $2.8 million was budgeted in Non-Operating Grants to account for the SLIB Grant funds to be used for construction and tax credit funds.

According to information provided by the JCHC, the final approved budget Total Operating Revenue is $27.3 million with Total Operating Expenses of $30.6 million.

Non-Operating Income showed at $5.4 million, added to Total Operating Revenue for an estimated Net Gain of $2.1 million.
