News – Sheridan Media

While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Chief of the Sheridan Police Department Travis Koltisk and Captain Tom Ringley spoke on the declining numbers of Driving Under the Influence citations during events in the city.

According to the Captain, along with the decrease in the number of DUIs, demographics of those receiving the citations have changed.

As frequent guests on the newstalk program, Koltiska and Ringley have stated on many occasions the Sheridan PD does not discourage drinking and indulging oneself.

Both the Chief and the Captain attribute the decline to the community. Sheridan’s ordinance that enforces the training of bartenders and other servers who handle alcohol may be one factor, public education of the effects of alcohol and the dangers of driving while intoxicated are certainly contributing to the decline as well, according to the Chief.

But the Sheridan PD leadership also attributes the responsible handling of alcohol by the establishments in Sheridan.
