Buffalo Police Chief Sean Bissett gave his report to the city council during their recent regular meeting, saying there was one vicious dog incident that resulted in one attacking dog receiving a non-fatal gunshot wound by an officer.
Another disturbing incident during the month of June involved an animal cruelty charge along with two other charges.
According to Bissett, officers conducting a welfare check found a dog in distress in the house in deplorable conditions.
Officers needed to don full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Gear to deal with the situation and remove the dog.
The subject was arrested on destruction of property, animal cruelty, and drug-related charges.
Bissett also reported that there were just under 3,500 calls to dispatch and 9-1-1 which resulted in seven total arrests during June.
