Scammers Using Sheridan City Hall’s Phone Number To Fool Victims

Sheridan City Hall received multiple calls in the afternoon of Monday July 10, 2023 from both city and county residents regarding possible scam calls using City Hall’s phone number of 307-674-6483.

The callers indicated that they received a phone call purportedly from the City of Sheridan from an automated system.

One resident did speak to a male subject with a thick accent who began asking the resident questions before the resident became suspicious and hung up.

The Sheridan Police Department and City of Sheridan would like to remind our area residents to not give personal information to callers over the phone without absolute confirmation of their identity.

The City of Sheridan does routinely contact area residents for a variety of reasons; however, anyone with suspicion of the call being illegitimate should end the call immediately.
