Sheridan County’s Commissioners have ratified a request to the State Loan and Investment Board (SLIB) for reimbursement on the Historic County Courthouse and Jail exterior reconstruction project.
Reimbursement Request #1 is seeking just over $1.2 million for construction work completed so far on the project, with roughly $1.7 million left of the original $3 million awarded by the SLIB for the project.
According to information provided by the commission, the $1.2 million requested will be for invoices submitted by Van Ewing Construction, the contractor on the project.
The SLIB also approved $450,000 for engineering on the project which is part of the $1,7 million left that is undisbursed funding.
The county applied for a $3 million loan through the SLIB, with the commission awarding the contract to Van Ewing for the bid price of $3,162,000.
The improvements, according to construction documents, were to replace the courthouse roof, replace and repair cornice, and repairing masonry wall damage. The jail cornice will be replaced in-kind, repairing masonry wall damage, and correcting drainage issues in the drive aisle between the courthouse and jail.
