Johnson County’s Commissioners have voted to draft two separate letters giving their comments and opinion on the rate increase proposed by Rocky Mountain Power and the latest information released by the Sage Grouse Working Group.
Commission Chair Bill Novotny made the request of the commission at their recent meeting.
According to the Wyoming Game & Fish website, the Sage-Grouse Implementation Team (SGIT) is comprised of representatives from State and Federal agencies, industry, and non-governmental organizations, appointed by Governor Mark Gordon, working collaboratively to protect the Greater Sage-Grouse under the State of Wyoming’s Sage-Grouse Executive Order.
Rocky Mountain Power has proposed a nearly 22% increase in rates on electric service in the state, in addition to a roughly 8% increase in rates approved earlier this year.
