Buffalo’s City Council, at their regular meeting Tuesday evening, voted to approve Resolution No. 1470, to amend the annual appropriation, or budget, bill for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024.
Vice-mayor John Camino, acting on behalf of absent Mayor Shane Schrader, explained the need for the amendment to the budget.
The funding is half of the amount requested by the civic center to replace and upgrade the building’s fire panel, as required by the state fire marshal.
The cost of the new, upgraded panel is $69,000 and the cost was split 50/50 between the city and Johnson County.
