New unemployment numbers from the Wyoming State Department of Workforce Services show that unemployment rates state-wide from January to February didn’t change much, which is normal for this time of year.
The statewide seasonally adjusted rate for February 2024 is at 2.8%.
That’s unchanged from the previous month, and down from February of 2023, when it was at 3.1%.
The U.S. seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for February 2024 was at 3.9%, which is up from 3.7% in January, and up from 3.6% in February 2023.
Sheridan County checked in at 3.5% in February 2024, which is unchanged from January, and down from 3.8% in February 2023.
Johnson County was at 3.8% last month, and that’s down from 3.9% in January 2024, and up from 3.7% in February 2023.
Teton County had the lowest unemployment rate in Wyoming in February 2024 at 2.1%, while Washakie County had the highest rate at 4.5%, followed closely by Big Horn County at 4.4%.
Nonfarm employment in the Cowboy State increased by 3,500 jobs from February 2023 to February 2024.
