Several arraignments were held this week in Fourth Judicial District Court in Sheridan. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
District Court Arraignments
A not guilty plea was entered by 52-year-old James Trenholm to the charge of delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine. Trenholm was charged with the alleged crime on April 28, 2024. District Court Judge Darci Phillips scheduled a three-day jury trial to begin on October 21. A pretrial conference will be held in District Court on September 24 at 11 am. A request to modify Trenholm’s bond to allow him to travel to Campbell County for medical and dental appointments was approved by the Court. The delivery charge is punishable by up to 20 years in prison and fines of up to $25,000.
In other District Court News, 27-year-old Casey Olson pleaded not guilty to one count of felony possession of a controlled substance – marijuana. The charge is being prosecuted as a felony because Olson has three or more prior drug possession convictions on his record. Judge Phillips scheduled a two-day trial to begin on November 12, 2024. A pretrial conference will be held on October 15 at 9 am. Olson’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court. The felony drug possession charge is punishable by up to 5 years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
