On Tuesday, August 13, SCSD#3, Arvada-Clearmont School, held their annual Welcome Back to School BBQ on the lawn at the school.
Superintendent Chase Christensen talked about the upcoming school year, and what they were focusing on during the 2024-25 year.
He added this about the atmosphere at Arvada-Clearmont School.
The Clearmont Community Church provided free school supplies for the 42 Kindergarten through sixth grade students. Included in the school supplies donated were pencils, colored pencils, scissors, glue sticks and notebooks for the youngsters.
There was also a tour of the school for community members, new and returning students and their parents.
Jonathan Broersma 5th Grade reading and math teacher and assistant director of technology, had this to say about the event.
There was also a preschool/KinderBoost parent meeting for ages 0-5 years old. As of Tuesday night, there were three kindergarten students enrolled for the upcoming year.
Joselyn Camino, instruction coach and facilitator for early childhood education, talked about KinderBoost at Arvada-Clearmont.
There was also an informal meeting, and parents could sign up their children for other early childhood opportunities.
The Clear Creek Recreation District also held an open house for people to tour the facilities and see what the Rec District offers the community.
Amy Rowe of the CCRD talked about the open house and some of the upcoming events.
A/C School is also hiring for several coaching positions, contact the school for more information.
The first day of school for students will be on Monday, August 19.
