Last Women’s Hike for the summer at Fort Phil Kearny this Saturday

State Parks Site Superintendent Sharie Shada announced the last  women’s hike will be taking place around Fort Phil Kearny this weekend. 

This women’s only activity is something new that has been taking place at the fort this summer season.

The last Women’s Hike of the season will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday Sept. 21. A regular $4 admission fee to the grounds is required.

Fort Phil Kearny is a Wyoming State Historic location near the town of Story. The fort served as a major epicenter during the events of Red Cloud’s War, 1866-1868. 

Today, the site encompasses 1000 acres, including Fort grounds, two major battle sites, an interpretive center and wildlife habitat and trails.
