Johnson County’s Commissioners considered sending a Letter of Support for the Resiliency for Ranching and Natural Conservation Health (RANCH) Act.

According to energy.senate.gov, this legislation will promote resilient and healthy range lands and effective grazing management across the West.

Chairman Bill Novotny explained more about the Act during the recent county commission meeting.

Novotny further explained there is money taken from the Land and Water Conservation Fund that allocated $15 million annually for range improvement projects as well as re-seeding and rehabilitation efforts, which considering the fires in Wyoming this summer, any money that would be available to Johnson County will be critical in those future efforts.

The commission approved Chairman Novotny to draft and send the Letter of Support.
