Be aware, wildfires can cause downed power lines, which are extremely dangerous. If you see downed power lines, stay away from the line and call Montana-Dakota at 800-638-3278. A downed power line should always be considered extremely dangerous β keep away and never approach a downed power line. Power lines draped over highway barriers or fences can energize them for great distances. Donβt touch anything thatβs in contact with the wire. Donβt drive over a downed power line. If a power line falls on your car, stay in your car. Youβre safe as long as you do.
