History can be hidden in the small things; an old lantern, canning jar lid, children’s toys, and a newspaper from 1934. The Sheridan Community Land Trust’s popular program will be looking at the pieces of the past in our daily lives  such as family heirlooms, an old tool taken for granted, or an accidental find in an old house.

All of us often recognize these items as idle curiosities, but they can tell us about the past. In this talk, Jason Weston will look at historic items he’s come across; talk about what they tell us, and how we all can draw meaning from the pieces of history in each of our lives.

Executive Director of the Sheridan Community Land Trust, Brad Bauer, made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss the program that will show us how bits and bobs from our everyday lives can tell us about history and the people who lived it.
