Celebrating its 7th season, an organization that raises funds to help children suffering from medical conditions is expanding over the hill to Sheridan.

Compete for a Cause is a talent show with the goal of helping a child who may need some support. Founder and President of Compete for a Cause, Brook Grant, called into Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to discuss the talent show.

There is no registration fee to participate in the talent show. According to Grant the majority of the funds come from sponsorships and donations as well as a few other avenues.

Anyone can compete, but first an audition video must be made and sent to Grant who will present the videos to a panel of judges. With only 20 performance slots available, competition can become intense.

Grant and her team made the choice to expand Compete for a Cause into the Sheridan area because of the impact it had in its home city of Cody.

This team is searching for a child that needs help and to be lifted during their battle against their medical condition. Grant is asking the Sheridan County community to also nominate a child by Dec. 1, that could use a talented celebration and some much needed monetary relief. Submit nominations with a description and story to compete4cause@gmail.com

Submit audition tapes of any talent to compete4cause@gmail.com, by Feb. 1, 2025. Those wishing to volunteer to help may also send an email to the same address.

The Sheridan edition of Compete for a Cause will be April 5, 2025, in Kinnison Hall at Sheridan College.
