Sheridan Fire-Rescue will soon have new personal protective equipment. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
The Sheridan City Council this week approved a funding award from the State Homeland Security Program grant to purchase ballistic gear for Sheridan firefighters. Sheridan Fire-Rescue Division Chief Chad Brutlag said that the grant award was in the amount of $7,962 and will be used to purchase ballistic protective equipment.
Brutlag added that there are now two National Fire Protection Association standards that detail the requirement for crews to have ballistic gear available when responding to an active shooter or potentially violent emergency responses.
