One-hundred year ago this month, the John B. Kendrick family celebrated Christmas in their elegant home, Trail End. Today, Sheridan residents can relive the event at “Christmas with the Kendricks” at the Kendrick Mansion State Historic Site. Tickets go on sale today for the popular event.
This year’s event will be held on Friday and Saturday, December 20 and 21, from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. and on Sunday, December 22 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Site Superintendent Shari Shada:
During the event, visitors tour the Kendrick Mansion and watch live actors perform a play that unfolds room by room.
The characters – portrayed by local volunteers – and the script – carefully researched and written by Trail End staff – are based on real people and real events.
Unlike the Mansion’s loud and lively Holiday Open House, the “Christmas Eve” tours are intimate gatherings. Small groups are led through the house every fifteen minutes, stopping in different rooms to see how the holiday story unfolds. Tours last approximately 1 hour.
Tickets are $15 per person and must be purchased in advance as this event always sells out. Tickets are available here or by calling the mansion.
