Sheridan Media Sales Manager Jim Schillinger and Traffic Director Liz KincaidMade an appearance on Public Pulse to talk about the Sheridan Media Christmas Wish Program.
According to Schillinger, the program was developed almost three decades ago for folks who may have fallen on hard times and suffered events such as illness, death in the family or sudden unemployment. Schillinger said most of these people who have wishes submitted for them would most likely resign themselves to a small or no Christmas. People who wouldn’t ask for help… just tighten things up and work to grind by on their own.

It was the generosity of the Sheridan community and the business owners that grew the program. The donations of not only money, but goods and services was great, the Sheridan Media team could fulfill more wishes each year. Schillinger said if the team puts out a call for an item, he’s likely to receive five of the item from different business owners and residents in the county.
Kincaid said many of the people who have been helped in the past by an anonymous submitter return to pay it forward either through donations or service.

Kincaid and Schillinger and the team at Sheridan Media believe this program has grown to be a success because of the Sheridan County community. People anonymously helping people and the team at Sheridan Media simply have the honor of facilitating and delivering good cheer.
The deadline to submit donations for the Christmas Wish Program is just around the corner on Dec. 13.
