Johnson County Healthcare Center CEO Luke Senden, in his report to the hospital board at their last meeting, said the construction project was expected to wrap up and have final inspections during the last couple of weeks of 2024.
State inspectors were scheduled to tour the inpatient space and the Hospice hallway was expected to be blocked off for asbestos tile abatement for a couple of weeks.
He talked about the other spaces and when they would be usable.
He said he hopes to be able to start moving furniture into that area the week of January 13.
The JCHC is looking into options to show off the new OB and Hospice areas by using either video or private tours to maintain patient privacy, instead of a public open house.
