Wyoming Game and Fish Department Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse requesting the completion and return of the Hunter Surveys dispersed randomly by the department each season.
Schmidt said for this year, the survey is being conducted all online. Hunters will have received an email, with a follow up postcard reminder. The survey is conducted through UW’s Survey and Analysis Center and all responses are confidential.

Not all license holders receive a survey. Due to the large number of deer, elk and antelope license holders, only a percentage of that number receive hunter surveys. Due to the random selection process, some holders may receive one for a couple years in a row and then may not receive one. Almost all hunters with licenses for moose, bighorn sheep, black bear, etc. will receive a survey.
Harvest surveys are being conducted by the Wyoming Survey & Analysis Center (WYSAC) at the University of Wyoming on behalf of Game and Fish. All responses are confidential.
These surveys are an important tool for managing Wyoming’s wildlife and hunter cooperation is appreciated.
Hunters who have questions about the surveys can contact the WYSAC survey team at 1-866-966-2715 or email wyhunter@uwyo.edu. For questions related to hunting regulations or license applications, call Game and Fish at 307-777-4600.
