Sheridan County Commission Chairman Lonnie Wright and Commissioner Mike Arzy made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse and said they have hopes the legislature creates real property tax relief for the County’s residents.
During the appearance Wright said he is happy with the large number of applications the Sheridan County assessor has received from residents on the property relief programs, but is waiting to see what state lawmakers will do to address the issue long term.

Many of the Cowboy State’s commissioners are holding their breath, as much of the county’s funding comes from those property taxes. Commissioners are hoping for a balance that will be good for everyone, relief for residents and funding for the essential services each county is expected to provide.
Arzy agreed saying cuts may have to be made in the coming year but it is too early to speculate. But as long as the essential services are funded Sheridan County will be able to adapt.
