Sheridan Memorial Hospital knows that illnesses and injuries don’t follow a schedule and often strike at the worst possible times. In some instances, a primary care physician may not be able to see a patient for quite a while. That is why SMH has SameDay Health & Imaging.

SameDay Health & Imaging is available seven days a week, with hours before and after regular business hours.

Sheridan Memorial Hospital Physicians at SameDay Health & Imaging, Dr. David Nickerson and Dr. Christopher Prior made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to talk about this special clinic, organized with busy Sheridan residents in mind.

Dr. Nickerson said there are many avenues people can utilize the services offered at SameDay Health & Imaging, including walk-ins and telehealth.

Dr. Prior said the evolution of the SameDay Health & Imaging originated from Sheridan residents. The need for a clinic that can perform many of the same procedures; immunizations, physicals, walk-in examinations of flu and cold, fractures, sprains and strains without needing emergency room care has been alleviated through the development of the SameDay Health & Imaging. This type of clinic is something Dr. Prior said the nation may see more in the future.

Although doctors will send prescriptions to a pharmacy of the patients chose, SameDay Health & Imaging also keeps commonly prescribed medications on-hand to send home with patients. The goal of the program is to get patients feeling better as quickly as possible, while avoiding an additional stop on the way home.

Both Nickerson and Prior feel that SameDay Health & Imaging is a good place to start if someone isn’t feeling well or requires care of the typical flu and cold, fracture, sprain or strain variety and time is a factor for the patient.

SameDay Health & Imaging is located at 1470 Sugarland Dr. Suite #1, in Sheridan.
