The 2025 WYO Winter Rodeo began with The Moonlight Ski on Jan. 11, and will continue with the upcoming Family Sled Day.

During an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Sheridan County Travel and Tourism Executive Director Shawn Parker said the winter has shown up this year to allow for all the events to take place.

Families headed to the free sledding event can meet on the east lawn of the mansion for the family-friendly event. Trail End Guilds will provide refreshments including hot chocolate. Families must bring their own sleds.

The sledding begins at 10 a.m. and ends at noon at the Trail End State Historic Site.

The following week marks the return of skijoring in Sheridan during the WYO Winter Rodeo. Parker said the winner’s prize pool is one of the largest in the nation.
