Sheridan College’s Tayler Coleman was recognized as one of eight students from the state for the 2024 Shaping Wyoming’s Future Award. Each student was nominated by the community college in which they are currently attending – or have recently graduated – to showcase their determination and success. Coleman, originally from Parker, South Dakota, is studying elementary education at Sheridan College.

The Wyoming Business Alliance, together with the Wyoming Association of Community College Trustees, presents the award to one student from each Wyoming community college who has “transformed their life through their experience with the Wyoming community college system,” as noted on the award’s webpage. Students are recognized for how their experiences have shaped their lives and for the impact they are having on the future of Wyoming.

In addition to staying diligent in her studies, Tayler is active in the college community and is the 2024-25 Sheridan College Student Government Association President. She is also a resident assistant, plays intramural basketball, and is part of the college student leadership program. After graduation from Sheridan College, she plans to pursue her bachelor’s degree from UW and hopes to teach at an elementary school in Wyoming.
