It’s that time of year when Wyoming Game and Fish wildlife biologists and wardens are putting together hunting season proposals for this coming fall.
Next month, the department will hold a series of open houses to gather information and answer questions of the public which will then be followed by a formal season setting meeting to be announced at a later date.
While appearing on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse, Game and Fish Public Information Specialist Christina Schmidt said these open house meetings are a casual setting offering a time for hunters, anglers and the general public to sit and have a conversation with biologists and game wardens.

The first meetings are a series of open houses held throughout the region. At these events, Game and Fish game wardens and biologists will provide information about local herd units and proposed seasons. They will also be available to visit with hunters, landowners and other participants to answer questions and listen to feedback and opinions on the proposals.
Attendees at the meetings can pick up printed copies of the proposals and can provide written comments at the meeting.
The Wyoming Game and Fish Commission reads every comment submitted to ensure they are hearing the public’s concerns or suggestions.
Meeting schedules and locations are listed below. For those unable to attend any of the following meetings, online comments can be made by reviewing the information on the Game and Fish website.
March 24, 4 to 6 p.m. Sheridan at Game & Fish Regional Office
March 25, 5 to 7 p.m. Buffalo at Johnson County Library
March 25, 4 to 6 p.m. Gillette at Campbell County Public Library
March 26, 5 to 7 p.m. Kaycee at Kaycee Community Library
March 31, 5:30 p.m. Sheridan at Game & Fish Regional Office
