City of Sheridan officials recently discussed the details of applying for funding for a study for long term water supply for Sheridan and SAWS customers. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

Level Two Study

A 2019 level one study funded by the Wyoming Water Development Commission recommended that Lake DeSmet be Sheridan’s highest and best consideration for the long term water supply needs of the community. The Sheridan City Council in 2023 approved a resolution to apply for a level two funding request through the WWDC. While the request was not approved at that time, City Administrator Stu McRae said the City is once again looking into the issue.
