Third Quarter 2024 numbers from the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services show modest job growth in the state compared to the same time in 2023.
The Research and Planning section of the Department, reports from third quarter 2023, to third quarter 2024, total employment in the Cowboy State increased 2,231 jobs, or 0.8%, and total payroll increased $300.8-million, or 7.3%.
Employment rose in 15 of the state’s 23 counties, which included Sheridan and Johnson Counties.
Sheridan County was up by 228 jobs, or 1.6%, while Johnson Counties’ job numbers were up by 25, or 0.7%.
The Department adds total payroll increased in 21 counties.
Sheridan County was up $21,739,511, or 11.5% and Johnson County was up $5,329,490, or 13.9%.
The Department says Sheridan County saw job gains in several sectors, including construction, local government, manufacturing, retail trade, professional and technical services, and administrative and waste services.
