Sheridan Commission Supports Mosquito Management Program

Sheridan County’s Commissioners, during their Consent Agenda portion of their regular meeting Tuesday, ratified a Letter of Support for the Sheridan County Mosquito Management Program.

According to the letter, the commission said they support Bighorn Flying Company, LLC in association with the Sheridan County Weed and Pest District, and supports their Congested Area Flight Plan for the program.

Bighorn Flying Company will perform the aerial application operation over Sheridan County, operating from May through September of 2025 with specific dates to be determined by mosquito populations and weather conditions.

The program aims to ensure that Sheridan County has the fewest West Nile Virus cases as possible.

The larvicidal treatment program is intended to reduce mosquito annoyance and the risk of West Nile Virus in the county.
