The first Rancher’s Night Out was held in December of 2024.  These Working Lands Collaborative gatherings are an informal night for local producers, farmers and stakeholders to share ideas, experiences and have conversations pertaining to the land they work and love.

Sheridan County Conservation District Manager Carrie Rogaczewski and USDA Natural Resources Conservation Service District Conservationist Andrew Cassiday made an appearance on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse to announce the upcoming Working Lands Collaborative series taking place on March 7. Rogaczewski said the first Rancher’s Night Out went so well, they may become a staple in the workshop series.

The first Rancher’s Night Out took place in Sheridan. Rogaczewski said the following events are likely to take place in other Sheridan County communities.

The upcoming 2025 workshop will provide information on building resilience in the operation (through planning) and the landscape (through management), understanding how agencies and emergency personnel approach a fire, and how rebuilding can be an opportunity, Rogaczewski said. Speakers will also touch on insurance and financial considerations.
