Parking Prohibited

Parking is now prohibited on a portion of a street in West Sheridan. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.

A resolution designating no parking along the west side of Covey Run Road  from West 5^th Street to Quail Ridge Drive was recently considered by the Sheridan City Council. This road was constructed as a 36-foot wide road with curb and gutter, boulevard, and sidewalks along both sides of the road. City Engineer Thomas Morneau says Covey Run Road is experiencing a continuous increase in average daily traffic and on-street parking does not allow for maintenance and an adequate travel lane width minimum of 12 feet.

Following a brief discussion by the governing body after Morneau’s presentation, the City Council voted unanimously to approve the resolution to prohibit parking on the West side of Covey Run Road.
