Johnson County’s Commissioners tabled a decision concerning the retail liquor license currently held by the Cattleguard Steakhouse & Saloon.
The commission voted last month to renew all liquor license renewal applications except for the one held by the Cattleguard Steakhouse & Saloon, which is currently closed, as reported by County Clerk Jackie Camino.
Camino explained that although the CattleGuard Steakhouse is currently closed, state statute allows the license holder to renew their liquor license one time to either re-open the business or sell the rights to the license.
At the last commission meeting, County Attorney Tucker Ruby gave more details in the matter.
According to discussion at the meeting, there are also some discrepancies in the liquor license application which may need to be looked at and possibly corrected.
Ruby also recommended the commission wait until their next meeting to make a decision to be in compliance with the one-year grace period of non-operation with the license.
The commission chose to leave the decision on the license until their next meeting on March 18.
