Co-defendants in a drug distribution case in Sheridan County were both arraigned in Fourth Judicial District Court. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
-At an arraignment hearing before District Court Judge Darci Phillips Thursday, 32-year-old Andrea Bartling pleaded not guilty to the charges of delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine and conspiracy to deliver a controlled substance – methamphetamine. Bartling’s arrest was part of an investigation by the Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation into the distribution of methamphetamine in the Sheridan area. Bartling allegedly delivered and conspired to deliver methamphetamine on February 4. Judge Phillips scheduled a three-day jury trial to begin on August 11. A pretrial conference will be held July 8 at 9 am. Bartling’s bond was continued under the same terms and conditions that were previously set in Circuit Court.
In a separate hearing before District Court Judge Ben Kirven, Lacy Marks, who is a co-defendant in the case, pleaded not guilty to delivery and conspiracy to deliver charges. Marks allegedly delivered and conspired to deliver methamphetamine on February 4. The trial date and pretrial conference date were not set at Thursday’s hearing. Both Marks and Bartling face up to 40 years in prison and fines of up to $50,000.
