Sheridan County’s Commissioners considered an amendment to a lease agreement between the county and the Sheridan County Sportsman’s Association to add additional land at the County Recreation Complex.
Members of the shooting complex said they are outgrowing their current space and would like to lease the county-owned additional property adjacent to the complex.
During the public comment period, a number of residents voiced their opinions both against and in support of the lease, citing public access, fencing issues, and other concerns.
Commissioner Nick Siddle made a suggestion concerning the use of the additional county land.
After some further discussion, the commission chose to send the issue back before the County Recreation District Board for further discussion and negotiations with the Sportsman’s Association on the use of the additional land at the complex.
