At their meeting Tuesday, Sheridan County’s Commissioners awarded the contract for the Congestion Mitigation Air Quality (CMAQ) 2025 project, as recommended by County Engineer Ken Muller.

He gave more details on the project.

The contract is for just under $428,000 with just under $226,000 coming from the federal government and the balance, or just over $202,000 coming from the county through funds from the Capital Facilities Tax.

According to information from Muller, the engineer’s estimate on the project was $419,000. The submitted bid is 102% of the engineer’s estimate, showing a slight increase from 2024.

The program for 2025 will treat 65 miles of county roads for dust mitigation, according to Muller.
