Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum Director and author of Wyoming Bomber Crash of 1943, Sylvia Bruner was joined on Sheridan Media’s Public Pulse by Jenna Thorburn and John Woodward to announce the return of Jim Gatchell Memorial Museum History Conference.

Like so many events, the Covid-19 pandemic placed the conference on hold, scheduling conflicts and other items took priority the following years. But now, the History Conference has returned just in time to commemorate an important moment in world history.

Jenna Thorburn, is Superintendent and Curator for the Wyoming Pioneer Memorial Museum, Camp Douglas Officers’ Club State Historical Site and the Ft. Fetterman State Historic Site.
John Woodward is the Director of Museums for the Wyoming Military Department and president of the Museums of Casper organization.
The conference will also feature Tione Wilcox of the Friends of Heart Mountain.
Topics will include the POW Camp Douglas and Camp Douglas Officer’s Club, the Casper Army Air Base, and the Wyoming Bomber Crash of 1943 (Bomber Mountain).
The evening will also feature a new book release about Bomber Mountain by Sylvia Bruner, The Wyoming Bomber Crash of 1943, published by The History Press.
Tickets are $35 each and may be purchased from the museum or from the museum’s online store by clicking here for the event.
Tickets must be purchased in advance, and are limited. Dinner and a cash bar will be provided by the Occidental Hotel’s Virginian restaurant.
