Wyoming’s Congressional Delegation of Senators John Barrasso and Cynthia Lummis and Representative Harriet Hageman recently joined Senator Steve Daines of Montana in sending a letter to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. The letter calls on the USFWS to move quickly to delist the grizzly bear and return management to the states.
Senate Majority Whip Barrasso spoke on the Senate Floor in support of modernizing the Endangered Species Act.
Barrasso said the Endangered Species Act is being weaponized by environmental activists and extremists and it needs to be improved and modernized. Barrasso pointed out during his remarks that the last time the ESA was amended was in 1988, 37 years ago.
