The Clearmont Town Council met on Monday, May 19. Clerk Kirstie Auzqui swore in Ernest Miller of Clearmont as a new town councilman. He will fill the seat left vacant when Anna Switzer resigned.
Mayor Chris Schock reported about an upcoming visit that may help bring more development into Clearmont.
He added they would also be interested in talking to the administration at Arvada-Clearmont School.
Schock also reported on the WAM Wyoming Association of Municipalities Community Hero award, which goes to persons, groups, or organizations that have been involved in community enhancement projects, including beautification, and historic preservation.

This year WAM gave a Community Hero award to Clearmont residents Tom and Julie Weber. Schock explained why they were nominated for the award.
The council voted to approve Councilman Kaelan Haring as the voting delegate to the WAM Summer Convention this year.
Other topics included promoting the Clear Creek Stop Convenience store, which is for sale.

Schock also wanted to encourage more community participation in council meetings. He said that the only time people come to the public hearings is if it is a big, controversial topic.
Maintenance man Pete Bassett reported on the plan to put catfish in the town sewage lagoon.
The council voted to raise the wages for town clerk Kirstie Auzqui and Pete Bassett.
Upcoming council events include a public hearing for the SRF Application for funds for Drinking Water on May 27. There will be a special council meeting after the public hearing.
The next regular meeting will be held on June 16, and there will be a public hearing regarding Well #3 Connection on June 30. Schock urged the public to attend this meeting. All meetings will be held at town hall and will be at 6 p.m.
