Bighorn National Forest firewood permits are available for purchase through a new online E-Permit system, eliminating the need to travel to a Forest Service office. Sheridan Media’s Ron Richter has the details.
Bighorn Forest Supervisor Andrew Johnson said the Forest Service is working to make it easier to purchase firewood permits and that the online purchase can be done on any web connected device and that the service provides flexibility and convenience for those looking to obtain a permit.
Traditional firewood permits are still available to purchase at local Forest Service offices, or participating vendors. Johnson said the Forest Service will continue to refine and improve the quality of the online permit system and add additional special forest product permits in the future.
